Schedule: May 19th, 2026 Start/End: 1:00–3:00 PM Location: East River Front Fishing Ponds 11267 S River Front Pkwy, South Jordan, UT 84095 Age Range: 4–14 About This session is part of Apogee's off-the-grid curriculum, two hours dedicated to one of the most fundamental human skills: knowing where you are and how to get home. Students will learn to read a map, use a compass, blaze a trail, and navigate without any tools at all. We'll work through storylines, backtracking, and aidless navigation in real terrain with real consequences, the kind of learning that doesn't happen at a desk. Thirty students, two hours, and a landscape full of things to figure out. Skills Navigation: map reading, compass use, trail blazing, backtracking Aidless Navigation: storylines, sensory awareness, finding your way without tools Outdoor Etiquette: reading terrain, group movement, situational awareness
